Christmas and Couriers

The last date for Christmas delivery for the North Island is Thursday, 19th December and Monday 16th December, for the South Island. Add a couple of days extra for rural deliveries.

We are closed 12 noon on 24th December to the 6th of January.

Any orders placed during this period will be despatched from the 6th of January onwards.

    Learning to fly your new Fishing Drone can be nerve-racking. You don’t know what to expect, how is the Fishing Drone going to react and what if I do something wrong – will it crash.

    The good news is that Fishing Drones are easy to fly. Plus Seahorse offers a Learn to Fly course that will step you through the first steps of getting into the air.

    Please note these lessons are weather dependent and may need to be rescheduled if the weather conditions are not suitable for flying.

    One Hour

    This one hour is held at the Seahorse factory. We will step you through the following areas

    • Battery care – storage and charging
    • Battery Charger – How to use
    • Pre-flight checks
    • Setting up the KontikiDrone
    • The operation of the transmitter (Controller)
      • What the different controls do
    • The different flight modes
    • Different flight commands, throttle, yaw, roll and pitch.
    • Flight Modes – GPS Mode, manual stabilised mode and RTL
    • Flying and dropping a weight

    Three Hours

    Three hours either morning or afternoon will be held at the Seahorse factory with an optional trip to Papamoa beach. We will cover the following areas

    • Battery Care – Storage and Charging
    • Battery Charger – How to set up, how to use and the different modes
    • Pre-flight checks
    • Air Share Maps
    • Setting up the Kontiki Drone
    • What the different flashing LEDs mean
    • Maintenance – What needs to be done
    • Setting up the drone for Fishing
    • Setting up your fishing line for fishing
      • Different options for traces
    • Operation of the transmitter (Controller)
    • What the different commands and switches do.
    • Testing and flying in different flight modes.
    • Flying a fishing line out to sea and dropping

    All Day

    Five hours at a beach near you.

    We will travel to a beach near you (North Island only) and spend the day with you (or a small group) stepping through the different steps of learning to fly and covering the setup and different aspects of drone fishing. As we have all day, this will be done at your pace. More time will be spent on each stage to ensure you fully understand it. If we get everything done early, we can do some fishing.

    • This can be done for either an individual or a small group
