    Seahorse Pegasus Fishing Drone

Designed and hand-built in New Zealand

    • Based on our many years of experience building and maintaining Kontiki drones that operate in the harsh beach environment, Seahorse has designed and developed the Pegasus drone to suit New Zealand Fishing Conditions.
    • The Pegasus Drone is designed to be easy to use, with performance to fly in the harshest conditions. The advanced flight controller lets the pilot feel confident that the drone will deliver the baits to the fish.
Designed and hand-built in New Zealand

Seahorse is the world leader in designing and building off-the-beach fishing systems. With over 20 years of experience, we have brought this knowledge to drone fishing.

    Unparalleled Flight Performance

Drones are designed to fly, not swim. We have focused on developing the Pegasus to achieve unparalleled flight performance. This performance is excellent because we use a Carbon Fibre frame instead of flexible plastic.

    Ease of Use

Using leading components and software from the drone industry, the Pegasus is one of the easiest drones to operate and fly. The Pegasus does not need to be calibrated. Plug in the battery, and you are ready to fly.

    Reliability

The Pegasus is reliable because it uses leading components and software from the drone industry. Its open design makes it easy for the pilot to inspect the drone for issues. Pegasus drones provide the full backup from Seahorse Fishing.

    Easy to Use

Easy to use and with all the features you need.

    No Calibration Needed

The Pegasus has a world magnetic model database that calculates the local magnetic declination. The flight controller also has In-Flight Learning, this allows the magnetic declination to be adjusted on longer flights.

    Skydroid Transmitter and App

The Sykdroind Transmitter have an easy to use layout with the essential controls to hand. The Skydroid App that operates on Android (Samsung) phones provides the important flight telemetry. The App gives access to advanced options including automated mission planning.

    The Quick Switch

The Quick Switch is the on/off switch. It allows the main battery to remain plugged in between flights but with the drone powered down. The switch is easily accessible at the rear of the drone, and it can be plugged in and out as needed.

    One Button “Return to Launch”

A press of button A on the transmitter will instruct the Pegasus Drone to return home, land and turn off on landing. It’s possible to guide the drone left, right, back or forth if needed to land exactly where you want. Applying full throttle during the decsent will cancel the automatic landing.

    Automatic Missions

Waypoints can be set during a flight from the transmitter. Following flights can fly to that waypoint, allowing you to target a special fishing spot. Missions can be pre-planned in the App, saved and uploaded to the drone as needed.

    Beginner Friendly

The Skydroid App can be downloaded and install on any Android phone. The App and the Transmitter make controlling the drone easy. The audio and visual warnings and messaging on the App keeps the pilot informed as to what’s happening.

    Built-in safety features

The safety features are built into the heart of the Pegasus Drone

    GPS Controlled Flight

he drone’s flight is controlled using GPS coordinates. We have limited the maximum speed to ensure safe line pulling. Additionally, the rates of climb and descent are maintained within safe limits.

The Return to Home speed is faster to minimise the power used, and to impress your friends.

    Low Power Return

One of the essential safety features of any drone is its low-voltage failsafe. When the battery voltage reaches 21.7 volts, the drone automatically drops the line and enters Return to Launch mode. The Pegasus Drone will return to the launch point, land safely, and shut down. For added safety, it is also possible to override this failsafe and take manual control of the drone.

In addition, we have a second Critical level failsafe. This second-level safety level provides additional security to ensure the safety of the Pegasus Drone.

    Flight data Logging

The flight Controller records the telemetry data of the flights. This data can be used to assess the drone’s performance and identify issues or reasons for its actions. It is a powerful tool for ensuring the Pegasus Drone is flying at its best.

This is a key tool for reviewing the drone’s performance. The logs allow Seahorse to recreate the flights and help identify what happened.

    Loss of signal protection

The Skydroid T10 Transmitter has up to 10km’s of range, but if the signal is lost between the transmitter and the drone, the line will automatically be dropped and the drone will return to Launch and land.

For example, If you drop the transmitter in the ocean, the Pegasus Drone will return to you.

    Audio and Visual warnings

The Skydroid App provides audio and visual warnings and updates during the flight. It can be programmed to give audio updates for important telemetry such as battery voltage, distance from home, and altitude. The Skydroid App will also warn you about activations of any issues that could affect your flight.

    Automatic Landing Detection

The Pegasus Drone is designed to automatically detect when it has landed. If the drone is engaged in an automated mission or is returning to its launch point, it will recognize the landing and turn off the motors after a delay of 4 seconds. If you are landing manually, simply keep the throttle below halfway; the Pegasus Drone will also detect the landing and shut off the motors shortly thereafter.

    Seahorse Pegasus Performance

The Pegasus Drone has the looks and performance of a top fishing drone.

The LiPo battery used is a 3500mah, 6S, or 6 cell battery producing 25 volts of power

Return to home speed is 15 metres/second. More time Fishing

Power GPS system connects to over 30 satellites. Improved accuracy

The 11 inch Carbon Propellers are light and stiff, ensuring maximum performance

Automatic RTL and landing detection. Simply, Press the button and watch the drone fly home and land.

The Audio and Visual warning messages on the Skydroid App keep you up to date with what is happening.

The motors are highly efficient delivery power as needed, ensuring a smooth flight

Weatherproof design allows flying in the rain. And it provides protection from the marine environment.

Technology used in the Pegasus Drone

Designed and hand-built in New Zealand

    • Seahorse has used industry-leading hardware in the Pegasus drone, which gives us the freedom to choose the best components for the job. We are not locked into using expensive, overpriced proprietary equipment. We can always provide cost-effective, high-performance components for the Pegasus.
    • The motors are known as pancake motors, as they are wide and flat. They have excellent throttle response and produce high torque for their size, which makes them excellent for fishing drones. Their open design makes them easy to clean and maintain, including removing sand.
    • Seahorse uses the Arducopter firmware on the Pixhawk flight controllers to fly the Pegasus Drone. This is an open-source project backed by many of the leading players in the drone world. The Arducopter project started in 2015 and has developed the go-to flight Controller firmware for large, long-range, heavy-lifting camera drones. Professional drone operators use Arducopter to protect their expensive drones and camera gear.
    • The carbon fibre frame provides excellent stiffness, essential for good flight performance. This reduces vibration and ensures the motor’s power is used efficiently.

    Quick Release Hubs

The carbon propellers connect to the motors with screw on quick release hubs. The hubs self tigthen while flying, but allow for quick and easy removal at the end of the day.

    Battery Connection

The battery connector is a free floating plug. The floating plug allows the wires to absorb any vibrations during the flight. This makes the connection more secure and less likely to accidentally come unplugged during a flight.

    Quick Switch

The Quick switch situated at the rear of the drone allows for quick connecting and dis-connecting the battery power.

You can unplug the quick switch between flights, to power down the drone, making it safe to be left with the propellers on.

    Adjustable Camera

The high resolution camera is mounted below the nose of the Pegasus. It is manually adjustable to get the view angle you prefer. Either looking down or looking forward – your choice.

    Long Carbon Legs

The long carbon legs lift the drone clear of the sand, and that wave that gets too close.

The wide stance of the legs makes the drone stable on the beach and surefooted during it’s landings.

    Release Servo & Strop

The waterproof (IP67) release servo is mounted on the battery plate, giving easy access for attaching the strop.

The battery straps are lined with grippy rubber to secure the battery in place, being the same as racing drones use. The racers crash test the straps all the time.

    Open Motors

On the beach, sand gets everywhere, including motors. the open design allows for easy inspection and cleaning (if needed).

The pancake style of motor gives amazing throttle response and high torque for weight.

    Beach Proof

The Pegasus Drone is built tough to meet the needs of the beach fishers.
