Drone Drums for Winches
We have developed Drone Drums to fit into all the existing Seahorses and Wavefisher Winches.
These drums have a larger core to hold the lesser volume of the 130lb B/S braid used with the Trident Fishing Drone. This allows you to keep your existing winch and swap the drums over to go drone fishing. The larger core drums have the advantage of rotating more slowly during line deployment and retrieving the line quickly during retrieval. Due to the drum’s mass, it is essential to fly the drone at a consistent speed.
The line is set up with a nylon backing that binds the braid to the drum. It consists of 200 meters of 300lb B/S braid, 1000 meters of 130lb B/S braid, and 50 meters of looped polyester line for the traces and weights. These drums can be matched with the Drone Trace board, filled with the DroneTube Traces.
The large drone drum has a large core. This means the drum spins slower as the line is being deployed, allowing the drone to fly faster for the same number of rotations of the drum. On retrieve, the winch will recover up to 70 metres per minute.
The large core, means faster deployment and faster retrieval. This makes for safer flying, plus you will be able to get more sets completed in the same time.
The small Drone Drum fits into the Seahorse Braid Winch. It also has a large core, allowing the line to use the full diameter of the flanges.
The Braid line doesn’t take up much space. And the large core ensures effective use of the winch.
